View Recipe →This citrus avocado salad is a bright spot in the cold months — juicy orange and grapefruit segments with buttery avocado, red onion, and a citrus vinaigrette over peppery greens. Winter citrus is at its sweetest just when you need it most, and against creamy avocado it makes a salad that feels both refreshing and luxurious. Segment the fruit properly and this simple bowl looks like something from a restaurant.
Cut the peel and pith from the oranges and grapefruit, then slice out the segments over a bowl to catch the juice.
Whisk the olive oil, 1 tbsp of the reserved citrus juice, honey, salt, and pepper.
Scatter the arugula on a platter and arrange the citrus, avocado, and onion over it.
Drizzle with the dressing, add flaky salt and pepper, and serve.
Finish it with a homemade honey mustard dressing, or pair it with our Strawberry Spinach Salad for a bigger spread. New to building bowls from scratch? Start with our Homemade Salad Dressing Ratios guide.
